Only God

Dear praying friends,

Preparing for the GProCongress for Pastoral Trainers has been an enormous test and affirmation of RREACH’s motto: ONLY GOD. Late last week a couple of well-coordinated thieves made off with Dr. Richard’s briefcase, which contained his computer, important Congress notes, several items of personal significance, and cash. The loss and subsequent challenges reemphasized our total dependence on God, and God only. The fact that Dr. Richard was not harmed and the generosity of his Brazilian hosts in helping with funds to cover part of the losses despite their own economic situation re-testify to how great the Only God is. Thank you so much for standing with Dr. Richard, RREACH and the GProCongress team in prayer and praise to Only God!

Yesterday Dr. Richard headed out for his final GProCongress vision-casting trip—in spite of issues that cropped up with his flight. Please pray for good response to the upcoming vision-casting in one country in the Middle East and for productive Congress team meetings in Bangkok next week. Pray, too, for:

  • fruit from all preceding recruitment efforts
  • selection of the right presenters and coaches
  • robust development of the Congress follow-up strategy.

Praise ONLY GOD.

Dr. Richard on a mobilization sprint

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard is in a mobilization sprint. After meeting with Latin American evangelical leaders in Honduras earlier this week, he returned to Dallas to assist some dear friends with the memorial service celebrating their young son. He left again yesterday evening for GProCongress vision-casting sessions in three major cities in two South American countries. Praise God for His sovereign care as Dr. Richard travels and ministers in many different ways, and pray that He will continue to be lifted up through Dr. Richard’s life and service.

Ask God to encourage many pastoral trainers in Central and South America to attend the GProCongress, both for their benefit and for the perspective they bring. Also ask Him to provide as they face prohibitive travel expenses to Bangkok. Finally, please remember the following ongoing Congress prayer priorities:

  • Up to 5,000 of the right pastoral training delegates
  • The right coaches and speakers/presenters/discussion leaders and their preparation
  • Praise for over $930,000 given toward the recent Inspirational Challenge
  • Approximately $3.1 million in donations is needed by 12/31/2016 to finish RREACH’s Congress financial commitments

Thank you for praying!

Praise and pray for divine connections and many registrations

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for holding Dr. Richard up during this final stretch to the Global Proclamation Congress. The opposition he faces is constant and comes on all fronts, but the Holy Spirit’s protection and guidance are even more constant, powerful and always/everywhere-present. Praise Him!

Dr. Richard’s vision-casting meeting with 9 of the 10 countries of ASEAN leaders last week, put together in two weeks, was well-attended—a direct answer to prayer. It looked like one key country would not be represented, but God brought in a leader from that nation just two hours before the meeting. Please pray that this session will translate into a surge of registrations. Dr. Richard also spent the weekend in a neighboring region where the Church is thriving quietly but exponentially. Pray for a strongly positive response, and for God to clear the way for many pastoral trainers from this area to attend.

Connections for the third stop on Dr. Richard’s trip are coming together after a great deal of prayer and perseverance. We thank the Lord Jesus! Please ask Him to bring the right people together at the right time(s), to give Dr. Richard wisdom as he communicates, and to spur a robust delegation for the GProCongress. We praise Him for how He is moving all of us and the Congress forward for His honor and joy.

On the road…again, national GPAs and GProCongress team needs

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for praying Dr. Richard through a short GProCongress mobilization visit to Orlando. As this is being written, he is in the air on his way to Myanmar and then Bangkok for more Congress mobilization and program planning. The Lord willing, he is to come back via Canada to lecture on preaching in two different cities as well as do additional Congress vision-casting. Please remember the whole Richard family during this higher-pressure time. Pray that they will walk closely with the Lord Jesus Christ, find strength and rest in Him, and that He will be honored in and through their lives.

GPA Lesotho is just beginning. Pray for special connecting, uniting and strengthening there. We are planning on a few more national GPAs coming up this year, the Lord willing, in Trinidad and Tobago, Thailand and Panama. Pray for a full complement of delegates at each and protection and provision for the organizers and teachers.

God has blessed the GProCongress with a wonderful Core team and set of advisers. Ask Him to direct and empower them in helping strengthen pastoral trainers, who have never come together on a global level, through the GProCongress. Thank you!

Pray as persecution increases; Praise for vision-casting reception and GPA Lebanon

Dear praying friends,

By the time you read this, the Lord willing, Dr. Ramesh Richard will be finishing two super-charged weeks in South Asia. Response to his GProCongress vision-casting has been tremendous. Pray for the ongoing blessing of safety and health as he travels back to Dallas.

GPA Lebanon is being “amazingly received,” reports national GPA coordinator Rajiv Richard. The closing session is Saturday, after which many will return to ministry in highly dangerous areas. RREACH has recently received reports from GPA pastors in a number of different countries facing increased persecution. Their concern is less for themselves than for their families. Please pray for God’s mighty hand to cover them, for His peace and wisdom to fill them, and for their lives to be a radiant testimony to the Lord Jesus.

groupWhile efforts to spread the word about the GProCongress among pastoral trainers are highly visible, behind-the-scenes efforts to find the right people for speaking/discussion-leading/presenting roles are no less intense. Please ask the Lord’s provision in selecting, asking and hearing from each candidate, and for schedules to clear to permit participation.

Answered prayer, upcoming opportunities

Dear praying friends,

Just days ago Dr. Richard’s August schedule looked daunting. But then God provided a way to combine two trips into one. Another answer to prayer for Total Protection and Global Provision. Your intercession makes a difference!

Dr. Richard’s next engagements include a number of significant GProCongress vision-casting meetings during the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit. Please pray for opportunities to connect with the right people and for excitement about the Congress to spread.

We also ask prayer for Congress funding. To meet obligations and prepare adequately, we estimate needing $5,000,000 by December 31, 2015. Further, we anticipate needing another $2,500,000 by June 1, 2016, and $2,500,000 by December 31, 2016. This seems impossible, but, God can make it possible. As Dr. Richard says, “The Congress is not about pastoral training for the sake of pastoral training but pastoral training for the sake of the Great Commission.”

GProCommission in action: national GPAs, 2015 Dallas GPA, 2016 GProCongress

indonesia

GPA Indonesia grads

Dear praying friends,

GPA Indonesia has just wrapped up and GPA Benin has commenced. The effort to organize and run a national GPA is tremendous. Far more than a pastors conference, each event is intense and intentional in connecting, uniting and strengthening young pastors—and following up. We thank God for National GPA Coordinator Rajiv Richard and the Dallas GPA grads who are making them happen. Please pray for these coordinators, for each pastoral delegate, and for long-term effects on their churches and ministries. The National GPAs are a powerful aspect of our decade-long Global Proclamation Commission.

We also give thanks for RREACH’s dedicated Board of Directors, who have just finished meeting. Please ask the Lord for clarity, energy and efficiency as RREACH moves toward the GProCongress while maintaining the other areas of important ministry. Dr. Richard heads to London for the week for additional Congress vision-casting. He continues to seek the Lord’s provision for people to lead specific aspects of the project, especially in program.

For the 2015 Dallas GPA, we are now in dangerous territory. Only 22 pastors now have visas (12 have been denied US visas) and 21 flights have been purchased. Eight more pastors have visa appointments or need to make them. Pray that the Lord will bring the right 25 (or a couple more!) pastors. And especially, pray for their and the RREACH team’s physical, mental and spiritual preparation.
