Grieving and Acting with Hope

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Steve Douglass-Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru, Rev. Sirikul and Dr. Richard last November in Florida

Dr. Steve Douglass – Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru, Rev. Sirikul and Dr. Richard last November in Florida

Early this morning Rev. Enoch Yuttasak Sirikul, chair of the Executive Board of Thailand Evangelism and Church Growth Committee, chair of Thailand Campus Crusade for Christ, and national coordinator for the Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers, went home to the Lord after a sudden, massive heart attack. Please pray for Rev. Sirikul’s family, friends and ministry.

Rev. Sirikul instantly invited Dr. Richard to hold the GProCongress in Thailand after Typhoon Haiyan battered the Philippines in late 2013, requiring the relocation and rescheduling of the event. “[The GProCongress] will be a historic event in the body of Christ for this generation,” he said.

“I am shocked, stunned and terrifically sad,” Dr. Ramesh Richard said. “I’ve known ‘Nok’ for 30 years. He was one of the great leaders of the world and one of my best friends in ministry.” Your committed prayer for God’s total protection and global provision for the fulfillment of the GProCongress and its strategic follow-up is essential during these days. Please remember:

  • Registration and delegates – up to 5,000 of the right pastoral trainers from all areas of the world
  • Speakers, presenters, coaches and follow-up – availability and preparation
  • Funding – God has supplied all the funding needed to meet Congress contract deadlines to date; we anticipate needing another $1.6 million by June 15
  • GProCongress team – creativity, capacity and Christlikeness

Thank you for praying for us during this time of intense grief and action.

Dr. Richard on a mobilization sprint

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard is in a mobilization sprint. After meeting with Latin American evangelical leaders in Honduras earlier this week, he returned to Dallas to assist some dear friends with the memorial service celebrating their young son. He left again yesterday evening for GProCongress vision-casting sessions in three major cities in two South American countries. Praise God for His sovereign care as Dr. Richard travels and ministers in many different ways, and pray that He will continue to be lifted up through Dr. Richard’s life and service.

Ask God to encourage many pastoral trainers in Central and South America to attend the GProCongress, both for their benefit and for the perspective they bring. Also ask Him to provide as they face prohibitive travel expenses to Bangkok. Finally, please remember the following ongoing Congress prayer priorities:

  • Up to 5,000 of the right pastoral training delegates
  • The right coaches and speakers/presenters/discussion leaders and their preparation
  • Praise for over $930,000 given toward the recent Inspirational Challenge
  • Approximately $3.1 million in donations is needed by 12/31/2016 to finish RREACH’s Congress financial commitments

Thank you for praying!

Intense GProCongress preparation; Inspirational Challenge deadline today!

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for praying in the power of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ! We hope your Easter celebration of our Savior was sweet.

The GProCongress team is facing many challenges as they prepare for eight highly intentional, carefully scheduled days in June. Pray for wisdom, precision and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in the coordination of all the moving parts. Ask God for His power to prevail in behind-the-scenes operations. Pray for just the right people to fill the remaining presentation slots. Pray that those already committed to serve as emcees, speakers, presenters and coaches will be clearly directed by the Spirit as they prepare.

In delegate recruitment, we are asking in faith for not more than 5,000 pastoral trainers from 200 countries. Currently, more than 2,000 from 97 countries are in various stages of application/registration/payment. Intercede for the right pastoral trainers representing every nation of the world to be motivated and able to attend. Uphold Dr. Richard as he considers a number of pending recruitment trips to Central America, South America, Asia and Africa.

Please also pray for many to be moved to give toward the Congress in the final hours of our Inspirational Challenge. Over 75% has come in; we are in need of about $260,000 to meet our March 31 goal.

We are grateful beyond words for your faithful intercession for physical/spiritual/mental/relational protection and provision for Dr. Richard, the RREACH and GProCongress teams, and the RREACH board. God is able!

Dr. Richard meets a young seeker; search continues for right GProCongress presenters

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard is scheduled to fly home from Asia this weekend. Praise God for new connections and encouraging visits with friends who have stood by Dr. Richard from his early days in ministry. Please pray for his safe return and for his physical, mental, relational and spiritual health, which are being tested as never before.

Pray, too, for a young engineer Dr. Richard met while traveling. After sharing a meal, the young man accepted Dr. Richard’s invitation to join him for the church service at which Dr. Richard was scheduled to speak. With the church’s affirmation, Dr. Richard quickly shifted his presentation in regard for the young man’s need for eternal salvation. The man enjoyed the experience and has continued conversation with Dr. Richard via email. Please pray for him to trust the Lord Jesus.

Speakers and presenters have been secured for many key roles in the GProCongress; see this link for a partial list so you can pray for them individually, http://gprocongress.org/speakers/. A number of the right kind of presenters are still needed. Because this Congress is intentionally vision- and issue-driven rather than speaker-centric, we are interceding for the best people in every area, from case presenters and panel participants to discussion leaders and platform presenters.

Praising God for travel mercies; national GPAs; Congress needs

Dear praying friends,

A little over a week ago we asked you to pray because rain in Dallas had marooned Dr. Richard in South Carolina when he was scheduled to be leaving for Indonesia. Thank you for praying: after an overnight delay, God provided Dr. Richard a flight to Dallas and time to grab everything he needed before boarding his flight to Jakarta. Although sleep was scarce (he had three different countries and multiple meetings on his seven-day itinerary), he enjoyed times sharing the GProCongress with GPA grads and other leaders. Praise God for His goodness and please ask Him to sustain and continue to minister through Dr. Richard as he leaves for the Middle East this week.

Praise God for the completion of GPA Trinidad and Tobago and pray for the upcoming GPA Thailand, especially for 25 key young pastors to attend.

Please continue to lift up the need for the right speakers/presenters/discussion leaders for the GProCongress—185 in total. Though the event is issue-focused and results-oriented rather than speaker-driven, we desire the best people to facilitate and catalyze pastoral training for the long-term health of Christ’s Church worldwide.

Serving in an Attitude of Praise

Dear praying friends,

“Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise Him enough?” (Psalm 106:2 NLT) At the beginning of 2015, Dr. Richard expressed the desire that throughout the year RREACH would maintain an atmosphere of praise. From the perspective of praise, the steadily increasing responsibilities and challenges of the past nine months have been opportunities to grow in love, obedience and thanksgiving to our glorious and faithful Lord God. Your prayerful support is so essential in this. Thank you! Please keep on!

Join in giving thanks that Dr. Richard returned home safely from his Myanmar/Thailand/Canada trip, and that it was fruitful. We ask special intercession for a set of major GProCongress meetings this week. Much needs to be decided and done. Intercede for:

  • the Congress Core team
  • 1,500 registrants by November 15
  • all 185 speaking/presenting slots to be strategically filled
  • generous giving to meet Congress preparation deadlines

Please also ask the Lord Jesus’ great favor and protection over the 248 Dallas GPA and 1,169 national GPA grads serving in more than 80 countries worldwide.

Finally, let us continue to lift our hearts with the Psalm 106 writer, saying, “Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever” (v. 1).

Pray as persecution increases; Praise for vision-casting reception and GPA Lebanon

Dear praying friends,

By the time you read this, the Lord willing, Dr. Ramesh Richard will be finishing two super-charged weeks in South Asia. Response to his GProCongress vision-casting has been tremendous. Pray for the ongoing blessing of safety and health as he travels back to Dallas.

GPA Lebanon is being “amazingly received,” reports national GPA coordinator Rajiv Richard. The closing session is Saturday, after which many will return to ministry in highly dangerous areas. RREACH has recently received reports from GPA pastors in a number of different countries facing increased persecution. Their concern is less for themselves than for their families. Please pray for God’s mighty hand to cover them, for His peace and wisdom to fill them, and for their lives to be a radiant testimony to the Lord Jesus.

groupWhile efforts to spread the word about the GProCongress among pastoral trainers are highly visible, behind-the-scenes efforts to find the right people for speaking/discussion-leading/presenting roles are no less intense. Please ask the Lord’s provision in selecting, asking and hearing from each candidate, and for schedules to clear to permit participation.
