Be all in. Go all out.

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • We’re thanking God for sustaining Dr. Richard through several demanding weeks.
  • Please pray for a special RREACH vision event coming March 1–2.
  • Ask the Lord for Dallas Global Proclamation Academy nominations from unrepresented countries and visas for all accepted candidates.
  • Uphold Dr. Richard’s preparation for ministry trip to Haiti in late February.

Dr. Richard challenged Dallas Seminary chapel attendees to pursue the “NIV Life” (Not In Vain), to “be all in” and “go all out” for the Lord Jesus.

Your ongoing prayers for Dr. Richard mean so much, even when you might not know specifically what he has going on. For instance, he recently returned from a demanding ministry trip to immediately prepare for and host two major board meetings (one taking place this weekend), teach a full day at Dallas Seminary, and speak in the seminary’s chapel service—all while keeping other ministry concerns rolling along. He is grateful for God’s sustaining presence and power and for our prayers.

One of the “other ministry concerns” Dr. Richard has in progress is a RREACH vision event set for early March. Please pray for the right attendees and excellence in all the details of preparation. Pray, too, for opportunities for him to set aside time to write and for wisdom regarding various leadership projects.

Please intercede for the Dallas GPA nomination and candidate selection process. We have accepted 20 candidates, but need more from countries not previously represented. Also intercede for the accepted candidates’ preparation process. Getting visas to come to the U.S. remains a critical challenge. Several pastors have already been rejected. Nine have upcoming visa appointments. The pastors and embassy officers need to be covered in prayer.

The Lord willing, Dr. Richard will minister in Haiti later this month, encouraging pastoral leaders and speaking to opinion leaders, including government leaders. Please uphold the organizers and organization of these events. Pray that Dr. Richard will proclaim God’s Word in a mighty way.

Thank you!

New faith, new year, new life

Dear praying friends:

In brief:

  • Pray for follow-up with those who made decisions for the Lord Jesus on Dr. Ramesh Richard’s latest trip.
  • Pray for upcoming outreach events in The Gambia and other places, and for events in planning.
  • Pray for the Global Proclamation Commission’s (GProCommission) growing contribution to pastoral health and church health around the world.

The bigger picture:

Dr. Richard’s recent ministry trip in South Asia saw a number of opinion leaders—people of influence and affluence—trust the Lord Jesus as their only heart-Savior after his talks. Praise God! Please pray that their new faith will take root and flourish, and that their witness will draw others to Him.

At the beginning of this new year, the Lord willing, Dr. Richard is heading out again, this time for West Africa. A Dallas Global Proclamation Academy graduate from The Gambia is organizing a number of events in a situation in which the majority of people follow another world-view. Praise God for these opportunities.

Pray for His protection over those organizing the events, for the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts and minds to receive new life, and for Dr. Richard to be a useful instrument in the Lord’s hands. Please also ask His direction and provision regarding other outreach and pastoral training opportunities and amplification in 2019.

God continues to deepen and broaden GProCommission effectiveness in strengthening pastoral leaders and pastoral trainers. Much prayer is needed since much of what we’re doing has not been done before, especially in developing a global network of connections, encouragement and resources. We need sensitivity to God, readiness for action, excellent execution and perseverance in His strength.

Thank you for praying! May God bless your New Year with renewed faith and renewed life.

Major outreach opportunities

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • Dr. Ramesh Richard is on his way to minister in an influential country experiencing increasing hostility towards believers/followers. Please pray.
  • Praise! GPA Bolivia, the final national Global Proclamation Academy of 2018, successfully graduated 33 younger pastoral leaders. Please pray for 2019.
  • Plans are under way for a strategic event early next year. Pray for creativity, capacity and Christ-likeness in the process.

PES1 books in Spanish donated in Bolivia

Two Spanish editions of Dr. Richard’s book Preparing Expository Sermons were given to a GPA Bolivia coordinator for use in a seminary there. They hope to incorporate Dr. Richard’s seven-step process for preparing expository sermons into their courses.

Dr. Richard is embarking on a trip with major outreach opportunities, but new spiritual realities in his destination country require us to call on the Lord for protection and impact. Please pray for his entry into the country, for all the local hosts, and for full events. Intercede for God’s Word to reach into many and transform the many. Pray also for his engagement to speak at the 50th anniversary of a congregation he planted, which has become a central strategic influence in one of the world’s largest cities.

The final national GPA of 2018 wrapped up in Bolivia with 33 young pastoral graduates. Ask God to continue to work in the lives and ministries of each national GPA graduate—380 in 2018, 1,928 since 2011! Pray, too, for the national GPAs being organized for 2019. Pray for local organizers, logistical details and for the right 25 young pastors to attend each. Please also remember ongoing preparation for the 2019 Dallas GPA. Nineteen pastors have been accepted so far.

Finally (for this week), we would appreciate prayer for a special early-2019 event celebrating God’s work through RREACH and looking ahead to the next phase of Dr. Richard’s proclamation ministry. Pray for creativity, capacity and Christ-likeness as we organize this and for good response from 50 like-minded and long-term generous friends.

Thank you for praying!

Dear praying friends,

I am quickly over-running my allotted word count even as I begin this letter! Bring out your magnifying glasses to rejoice over a two-week, six-country, seven-airline-dominated last month.

  • China: A two-hour pastoral visit during a five-hour stopover after American Airlines’ longest flight (Dallas to Hong Kong—17 hours!) with a long-term friend weakened by cancer.
  • India: One of the richest days of my life in my childhood city! Two-hundred-fifty believers brought 350 pre-Christ friends for a day-long event featuring talks from converts to the Lord Jesus. I was energized by the spirit of the stories, and more importantly by the Spirit of God, to present the final 30-minute talk at the end of a powerful, jet-lagged day. Thirty-eight made first time professions of faith—a huge percentage! That night I flew to my birth city to talk to 20,000-plus people (mostly new believers) on the problem of evil.
  • Thailand: Yet another four-hour layover after an overnight flight allowed for a pastoral visit with a fine Dallas GPA grad/businessman/church planter. We finished with prayer for a child. That was Monday; on Thursday, he confirmed his wife’s pregnancy. God answers even before I pray! (smile)
  • Japan: A nation where the evangelical Faith has failed to penetrate. Still at an abysmal 0.50 percent, with most Japanese pastors soon to retire, they need a boost in recruitment and training of younger pastors. Who would have thought that RREACH would provide just that through our Global Proclamation (GPro) Commission? A Japanese leader who attended our 2016 GProCongress mobilized over 100 devoted Japanese pastors, older and younger, for GProJapan. They envision 50,000 congregations in Japan over the next decade.
  • Malaysia: God (and Bonnie) knew that I needed two slower days, which I found in Kuala Lumpur with RREACH’s director of Ministry Coordination, former Ambassador Selwyn Das. We had delightful times of meeting, eating, even shoe repair and a haircut!
  • Philippines: GProPhilippines was hosted by TOPIC (Trainers of Pastors International Commission), an organization founded by RREACH 20 years ago. We presented the new global facilitator of TOPIC, Al Bridges (formerly of BEE—Biblical Education by Extension). God used me once again to charge the 150. They plan to train 5,000 pastoral trainers to produce 10,000 new pastoral leaders by 2020!

I trust that your Thanksgiving season included what the Lord makes happen through you, me and this ministry. You were included in our United States Happy Thanksgiving season.

In the Inexhaustible Vine,

RR

In his words: Ramesh Richard August update

Dear praying friends,

Any time I get to personally deliver God’s Word, whether in evangelism or edification, with a few or many, I live out what God has made, gifted, called and placed me to do. That’s why RREACH began and exists. Thank you for prayerfully supporting this proclamation ministry.

Barely had the Dallas GPA ended when I rushed off to Rochester, New York. In addition to the cooler weather away from a “blazin’ Texas,” it was a delight to deliver God’s Word to 600+ Bhutanese-Nepalese. Kicked out of Bhutan, they lived as refugees for 20 years in Nepal.

I got to challenge them to spiritual and moral commitments. Dozens responded to the invitation to re-start their spiritual life!

Then I touched Syracuse, where my father breathed his last only five months prior, and preached where my brother-in-law and sister serve. In February, I had to speak there the very day after he died. As difficult as it was, a dozen or so came to Christ. This time, many committed to living a life of surrender and abandonment to Christ and His cause.

Two international events fulfilled the multiplication side of this global proclamation ministry. Twenty-five pastoral leaders attended GPA Grenada, a small “isle of spice where everyone is nice” in the lower West Indies. I got to address the GPA graduation, joint Sunday services, a pastors gathering, their Prime Minister’s cabinet, and a pre-evangelistic outreach dinner. Half of the 80 guests were unbelievers and five men (men alone!), indicated a profession of faith.

Women’s GPAs are filled pastors’ wives and women who primarily teach women. At the end of each GPA, I “charge” them into the Gospel ministry by video or phone call. It was thrilling to get photos of WGPA Nigeria, of both prayer time and play time—women’s soccer! I don’t think these wives and mothers have played anything for a long time!

Thanks for making it possible to do what is humanly impossible, in ability or resources. You help us reverse the eternal destinies of large numbers of desperate individuals worldwide! You are a blessing to me and RREACH.

An eventful season

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • Give thanks for Ryan and Chelsie Richard’s beautiful, Christ-honoring wedding ceremony.
  • Praise God for 26 pastors approved to come to the U.S. for the Dallas GPA!
  • Thank the Lord Jesus for the wonderful volunteers lending very helpful hands to GPA preparation.
  • Pray for personal proclamation opportunities for Dr. Richard in Paraguay, Venezuela and more.

The bigger picture:

On a Texas May day, family and friends celebrated Ryan and Chelsie Richard’s garden wedding, an event that exalted the Lord Jesus. Praise Him for His work in the couple’s lives and pray for their growth together in Him. Praise God, too, that Dr. Richard’s voice held up as he officiated; he eventually lost it from being outdoors on the high-allergen weekend.

Our prayers have been answered: We now have 26 pastors with visas for the June 10 – 30 Dallas GPA (our goal was 25). Thank you so much for praying. And please keep on praying for this group of fine, young pastoral leaders to be supernaturally connected, united and strengthened. Pray for safe, smooth travels and entry into the US. Most will be starting their journeys in less than a week.

Several sets of volunteers have lent their encouraging presence and helping hands to getting us ready for the GPA. We cannot thank God enough for them. Please pray blessing on them and on all final preparations for this major annual event. Also remember the teams serving behind the scenes.

Dr. Richard’s summer following the Dallas GPA is filling up rapidly. Ask God for clear leading about upcoming personal proclamation opportunities in Paraguay and Venezuela and later possibilities in Costa Rica, Hungary, and several locations in India, as well as U.S.-based engagements. Pray that he will be an effective spokesman for the Sovereign Savior worldwide.

Some answers to prayer!

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • Answer to prayer: Dr. Richard just completed two undisturbed, productive days of writing!
  • Keep praying for the possibility of a pre-evangelistic event with opinion leaders, people of influence and affluence, in Paraguay and other places.
  • Praise God for GProLearning.org’s growth to 7,142 curated pastoral training resources in more than 30 languages.
  • The Dallas GPA is nearly here; pray for 25 pastors and Holy Spirit-empowered preparation. Also pray for a national GPA in a dangerous region starting June 1.

The bigger picture:

Thank you for praying: Dr. Richard was able to dedicate a few days to writing this week and progressed well on a project. Please ask for his continued creativity and productivity.

Another answer to prayer! A RREACH colleague and local pastor met with a government official in Paraguay interested in organizing a pre-evangelistic event. Thank God for their efforts. Pray for Him to open the door there for Dr. Richard to talk with opinion leaders about life issues. Pray for more such opportunities in other locations, as well.

The resource arm of the GProCommission, GProLearning.org, now features 7,142 pastoral training resources in more than 30 languages curated from around the world. Praise God for the team’s diligence. Please ask Him for good collaboration, creativity and excellent implementation as they continue to introduce the GProCommission and its components to pastoral trainers and leaders globally.

With less than three weeks to go, we are praying for the right 25 pastors to attend the Dallas GPA, held on the Dallas Seminary campus. The count is now 23! Several pastors have upcoming visa appointments. Pray for everyone involved—pastors, RREACH team, Dallas Seminary colleagues, Master Coaches and more—to be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit in their preparation. Please also lift up a national GPA starting June 1 in a region dangerous for believers.

Thank you!
