Spiritual warfare in Dallas GPA and GProCongress preparation

Dear praying friends,

You’ve been praying with us over the devastation of physical war all over the world. Please also pray against the insidious spiritual warfare we face. Each year as the Dallas GPA nears, RREACH experiences a surge in challenges. This year, obstacles are compounding as GProCongress preparation intensifies. Would you ask the Lord’s total protection and global provision for Dr. Richard, RREACH and the GProCongress team in the following areas?

– Smooth operation of office equipment, computers and programs, Internet services, and communication systems

– Physical, spiritual, relational and mental endurance; travel mercies; safety

– Christ-honoring relationships – in ministry, family, organizational and public contexts

– Dallas GPA candidates – visa and travel arrangements, families, ministries

Dr. Richard is in South East Asia—right now in Manila, Philippines—for GProCongress vision-casting and several speaking engagements. On Monday, the Lord willing, he will head to Bangkok, Thailand, for GProCongress planning meetings. The team is excited to be meeting on-site.

Do also remember GPA Tanzania, which wraps up Saturday, March 28. Pray that these pastors will continue to grow in connection, unity and strengthening one another, for the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you!

GPA Tanzania underway; Dr. Richard set for “nonstop” 2-week trip through SE Asia

Dear praying friends,

God continues to sustain Dr. Richard through a demanding schedule (that is only going to get more so!) Over the past week he made strategic progress toward the GProCongress—now only 449 days away. He also prepared a deeply thoughtful piece on grappling with the atrocity of terrorism. Look for this important article in your upcoming RR Crossing newsletter, and pray for not only those undergoing appalling persecution, but also that testimony to the Savior will reach and transform the persecutors.

We also want to let you know God is granting favor to your (and our) prayers:

  • 14 Dallas GPA candidates have received visas, including one previously denied; eight more have appointments. We continue asking the Lord for the right 25 pastors, at least five from new countries.
  • Despite one car full of pastors breaking down on the way, GPA Tanzania has begun with 34 delegates. Pray for special connections, unity and strengthening. These elements are strategic to the uniqueness and effectiveness of all GPAs.
  • Dr. Richard is scheduled to speak at multiple events and has important GProCongress engagements over a two-week, three-country, four-stop sprint through Southeast Asia.
  • Intercede for a Program leader to join the GProCongress team at their on-site meetings March 30 – April 2.

Praise for a vital GProCongress deadline met, GPA Nicaragua begins, and ongoing Dallas GPA needs

Dear praying friends,

GPA Nicaragua—another country with great needs—goes into its first full day today! Please ask the Lord’s blessing on the pastoral delegates, master coaches and organizers, as well as their families while they are away. Pray for these young leaders to be connected, united and strengthened in a special way for an entire lifetime.

Thirty-three candidates have now been accepted to this year’s Dallas GPA; eleven have U.S. visas—one just granted yesterday. The process of getting U.S. visas this year has been unusually difficult. Residents of some countries are finding it difficult to enter even with U.S. visas. RREACH takes great care to abide by national policies, and every single Dallas GPA delegate has returned, as promised, to his home country. We ask you to pray for the Lord’s favor on the four pastors who have yet to apply for their visas, as well as those who will be reapplying. We appreciate your intercession on behalf of all who live in difficult areas.

Dr. Richard met an important GProCongress program deadline last week. Thank you for lifting him up! Please continue to ask the Lord to provide a Congress program director. More key meetings, some video-recording projects and preparation for upcoming speaking engagements are on his schedule this week. Pray for these, too.

GPA candidates need visas; a full Friday coming for Dr. Richard

Dear praying friends,

Yesterday, Pastor A from Albania was approved for a visa to come to the 2015 Dallas GPA! Seven of our 21 accepted candidates now have visas. Those with upcoming visa appointments include: Pastor N (East Asia) – Jan. 29; Pastor N (West Asia) – Feb. 3; and Pastor A (Middle East) – Feb. 10. Pastor A was accepted to the Dallas GPA last year, but delays in getting official documents prevented him from coming. Please pray the Lord’s favor on each pastor for visa approval and for raising his half of the GPA airfare.

The Lord willing, a key GProCongress team member who was unable to attend last week’s meetings will fly in to meet with Dr. Richard and with the RREACH Board this Friday. We are asking the Lord’s clear direction for these meetings, as well as for the provision of a Congress program manager and timely funding. Dr. Richard is also scheduled to speak at the DTS Chapel on Friday (Jan. 30).

On behalf of Dr. Richard, we thank you for remembering these needs and offering thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Travel recovery, special meetings and Dallas GPA prep

Dear praying friends,

The Lord provided what Dr. Richard called a “terrific” trip of ministry through India. Thank you for your prayers! It was also physically and spiritually rigorous, and your prayer for his rejuvenation and scheduled trip to attend a conference of Christian leaders in the Pacific Northwest would be appreciated. Next week, the Lord willing, a number of key GProCongress personnel will gather in Dallas for intensive meetings. We thank Him for these gifted and committed individuals and request prayer for their preparation, travel, discussion, decisions, and execution of plans.

And, believe it or not, the 2015 Dallas GPA is coming soon. To date we have accepted 16 candidates, two from new countries. We are praying for 25 fine young pastors to attend, at least five from countries never before represented at the GPA. Pastor S from Ivory Coast, a new country, applied for and received his visa this week! Please pray the Lord’s favor on these, and on the national GPA currently going on in Cuba.

Praying the New Year “in”

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard sends New Years greetings from India, where he is a keynote speaker for the University of Evangelical Students of India’s 60th jubilee gatherings. In addition to presenting devotions, the Lord willing, he will speak at the Watch Night service of covenant and communion. Please pray for this to be a meaningful time. Also pray for the Lord’s hand to be on him during upcoming events and meetings—both scheduled and impromptu.

The GProCongress team continues to move forward toward the 2016 global gathering of pastoral trainers. Ask the Lord for excellence in execution of every detail and resolution of the hurdles that inevitably come with planning an event of this scope. And don’t forget to pray for total protection and global provision.

“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”  Psalm 96: 1-3

Praising God in the Middle of a Torrid Schedule

Dear praying friends,

God is sustaining Dr. Richard through a torrid schedule—thank you for praying. After returning to Dallas last week from a 24,000+ air mile journey through four African countries, he went immediately into meetings with key contacts and the RREACH board, had a prayer event, and preached at Christ Church Plano’s two Sunday morning services. Monday found him in New York City for a World Evangelical Alliance event and gathering with strategic groups of Christian leaders regarding the GProCongress. Today, the Lord willing, he flies to Spokane, Washington, where he is to speak at Moody Bible Institute-Spokane’s commencement exercises this weekend. Continue to lift Dr. Richard up for travel and ministry mercies.

Please also pray for these ongoing elements of his ministry:
• Preparation for Dr. Richard’s 2015 Media Outreach messages on forgiveness
• Upcoming national GPAs in Cuba, Nicaragua and Lebanon
• A potential pastors conference to encourage pastors in a dangerous region
• GProCongress mobilization efforts
• Recruitment for the 2015 Dallas GPA

May the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified!
