What is he doing?

Dear praying friends,

What in the world is Ramesh Richard doing? And where? Writing, among other things. We’ve been praying for Dr. Richard to get quality time to develop ideas and write. God has provided a precious pocket of time for this during his current trip to Southeast Asia. Please ask the Lord to bless him with clear direction, creativity and productiveness. Pray that this time will be deeply refreshing in Christ.

Ramesh also anticipates tremendous opportunities for personal proclamation along the way, the Lord willing. Pray for:

  • A private gathering of believers and pre-Christian friends in a place where Gospel exposure is strongly curtailed.
  • Sessions with mission leaders in a land where the Church is growing and, sadly, so is opposition.
  • Comprehensive protection.

In the area of strengthening proclaimers, intercede for:

  • Dallas GPA preparations – Visas remain a critical concern. Two (of two) pastors have been denied so far. Pastor C from Cote d’Ivoire, Pastor I from Macedonia, and Pastor R from St. Kitts and Nevis have appointments in the next 10 days.
  • National GPAs – GPA St. Lucia is set for February 1 – 10. Other upcoming ones include Zambia 2, Laos, El Salvador and Central African Republic. Our goal is the right 25 pastors at each one.
  • GProCommunity – New technology tools and processes are proving invaluable in serving pastoral trainers globally. The teams are working hard on set-up and learning. They also seek more colleagues, especially in Southeast Asia.

Finally, please continue to pray for good fruit from our Media Outreach messages on Peace. If you have friends wrestling with life and the idea of God, suggest LifeRocks.org. We pray they’ll find what they are looking for!

A wonderful surprise

Dear praying friends,

RREACH just received a wonderful surprise: the independent charity evaluator Charity Navigator has updated our rating to 100! Less than one percent of all the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received perfect scores. We are humbly grateful.

Please continue to pray that we will do our best in every way to steward what God has entrusted to us, especially as the RREACH board of directors plans to meet late next week. Also remember the executive team meetings set to take place, the Lord willing, in a couple of weeks.

In the area of Media Outreach, Dr. Richard’s latest video campaign on grief is doing well. Pray for many to hear his talks, engage with us through LifeRocks.org, and ultimately trust the Lord Jesus Christ for their lives.

Work toward the 2018 Dallas GPA continues on schedule. We have filled every Master Coach slot and have accepted 17 pastors, four from new countries. We’re also working toward holding at least 25 national GPAs next year. Please ask God’s direction and favor.

Thank you!

In his words: Ramesh Richard August update

Dear praying friends,

“For the first time since 2012 I felt I had a day off,” I told Bonnie early last month. I have had days off, for sure, but the fact that I was not pushing or driving towards any big, future thing was what made me feel this way. I think it was also the point of resuscitation in this five-year voyage. I get to serve Christ at His pleasure in full strength again.

On July 1, Dallas Seminary welcomed me back into full-time faculty duties. What an amazing connection with my alma mater, whose leadership has not only accommodated our original understanding of 30 years ago, but gone beyond it to institutionally and personally support what I can bring to the school in global theological engagement and pastoral ministries. It was intriguing that I hosted a global phone conference of formal and non-formal theological education on the very day of my return to DTS.

I dedicated last month to what we called iA.S.K.—explained in my devotional in our third-quarter RR Crossing magazine. Please enjoy it for your spiritual health. Taking the acronym from Matthew 7:7, I am3Q17 front

  1. Asking for God’s good gifts, especially the Holy Spirit’s empowerment as His best good gift to us;
  2. Seeking first His kingdom—His purposes, priorities and plans for this ministry—while conduct myself righteously; and
  3. Knocking at His door for opportunities big and small, deep and wide, far and near, long and short, even heavy and light. Because much has been given to me, much is required from me.

I also penned First Basic: Confession & Conviction for Missio Nexus, an organization attempting to return the North American missions community to the basics of evangelism, discipleship and church planting at its 100th anniversary year.

2017’s Media Outreach theme media is Peace. I recorded six more short videos for LifeRocks. If you don’t get our bi-monthly videos, weekly thoughts and daily postings, please let us know.

While on a weekend trip to New York to be with my dad and sister, I ended up preaching at a vibrant, international church; I also spoke in Dallas at a South Asian congregation. Both were delightful. I felt like I was in healthy churches with active congregational participation in testimonies, songs, prayer and sharing, all before communion, offering and the message.

These are decisive days for RREACH, moving from waiting (January to June) to asking (July), to prioritizing (in August), to implementing (September to December and beyond)! Every time someone sends a gift or says they pray regularly for me explains so much of what God continues to condescend to do through us, His servants, you and me together. Thank you.

Warmly,

RR

Changing the way people think…will you pray?

Dear praying friends,

The Lord Jesus gave Dr. Richard some unexpected ministry encouragement during a quick trip to visit his father, Dr. John Richard. He met a man who remembered his talk at a leadership seminar held more than 20 years ago—and the man had been just 11 years old at the time! He also got word that a Christian television station in India is airing his LifeRocks Media Outreach messages daily. In addition to the joy of spending time with his dad, what an affirmation for Dr. Richard that God continues to change the way people think about the Lord Jesus Christ through his personal proclamation!

Will you trust God with us for his upcoming proclamation opportunities, which include Media Outreach message filming, guest-speaking at the church of an internationally-renowned minister, and a pastors conference and evangelistic outreaches in East Africa?

We rejoice in the 29 pastors who graduated from GPA Ivory Coast this month and the 24 pastors who gathered this week for GPA Argentina, which is to run through August 5.

Pray for God’s special connecting, uniting and strengthening for all of our Dallas and national GPA graduates and for current and upcoming national GPA attendees.

Please also uphold RREACH and GProCommission team members and their families, RREACH Board members and their families, and Dr. Richard’s family, especially as many travel this summer. Based in Dallas, Texas, USA; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Beirut, Lebanon; Kampala, Uganda; and many other places, we all strive to serve together for the proclamation of the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide.

Mission-critical opportunities; overcoming obstacles

Dear praying friends,

New and exciting opportunities for personal proclamation knock on Dr. Ramesh Richard’s door almost daily. He appreciates prayer for clear direction toward the most mission-critical assignments. His newest Media Outreach message, themed #StopFindingPeace, launched mid-month. Ask God to speak to many through it.

Thank you for continuing to uphold the massive Global Proclamation Commission vision, which is advancing at intense pace and focus. The national GPA in Vanuatu has concluded; GPA Senegal is scheduled to begin March 23; GPAs Guinea Conakry, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Romania-part 2 are coming in April. Pray for God to work powerfully in and through the RREACH ministries team, local organizers, and each pastoral delegate.

For the Dallas GPA, visas remain a critical concern. We have 16 pastors with visas. Ten have been rejected; some plan to reapply. Please intercede diligently for open minds and softened hearts, and for encouragement for the pastors not approved.

The GPro follow-up team asks prayer for extra capacity and great teamwork as they implement pastoral trainer/training multiplication plans. Two current projects of emphasis, country launches and data tracking, require creativity and discernment.

Finally, please lift the RREACH board and staff and their families before our Father God. Several are going through serious health challenges or loss of loved ones. Thank you for being vital partners in ministry with Ramesh Richard and RREACH. We pray God’s goodness will abound to you.

Ministry opportunities x momentum; much discernment needed

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard is returning to full-speed personal proclamation ministry. Ministry training is surging on intentional application of post-GProCongress momentum. Media Outreach is exploring a new endeavor. Would you please continue to hold Ramesh and this ministry before the Lord? Here are a few specific praises and requests.

  • The RREACH staff and extended RREACH ministries and GProCommission teams gathered in Dallas for a week of intense prayer, planning and partnership-cultivation. Several commented on the Christ-like love they experience through RREACH (one of RREACH’s core operational values). Praise God for the dedication, collaboration, creativity and productivity everyone displayed. Pray for growth in each of those aspects as the teams deploy to serve around the world. Intercede for Dr. Richard as he prayerfully considers all the ideas, options and strategies generated.
  • The Lord willing, Dr. Richard is to leave for a multi-country SE Asia trip next week. One of his engagements is to speak at GProCongress Indonesia, one of the first national GProCongress follow-up events. Ask for health, strength, discernment and travel mercies for him, and for clear and winsome proclamation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • GPA Vanuatu is scheduled to start March 2 and GPA Senegal March 23. Pray for the right 25 (at least) delegates each and for guidance and provision for the planning teams.
  • The first two 2017 Dallas GPA candidates who applied for visas were rejected. Ask God for direction on whether they should reapply and for all candidates on how to best approach getting visas. Of the 27 accepted candidates, 12 have visas. Please intercede for God’s great favor on those applying for visas.

Thank you!

GProCongress core team to meet; 2015 Dallas GPA complete

Dear praying friends,

The GProCongress core team is to gather in Dallas for several days of planning next week. Casting vision, sourcing key speakers, mobilizing attendees, and developing financial support are primary undertakings. Please ask the Lord for increased clarity, strength, unity and joy for all involved as the depth, breadth and speed of preparations increase.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and many kinds of support during the demanding but worthwhile 2015 Dallas GPA. God blessed greatly. Twenty-six fine young pastoral leaders have graduated and returned to their 26 different countries better connected, united and strengthened to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ. Please intercede for total protection and global provision for all 248 grads from the 10 Dallas GPAs held since 2005 as they serve.

Dr. Richard’s Media Outreach messages, distributed online and through social media, continue to spur people to think about the Lord Jesus Christ in new ways. Please remember to pray for hearers to place their faith in Him.

Finally, lift up Dr. Richard’s and Bonnie’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. We praise God for how He has sustained them and ask His ongoing favor on them.
