Keep praying for proclaiming

Dear praying friends,

2018 has started out like 2017 ended—eventfully. GPA Democratic Republic of Congo (East) began Jan. 4 in Goma with 30 eager pastors. They wrap up this weekend.

Pray that these young GPA DR Congo pastors will return home better equipped and connected with fellow pastors for the demands of ministry in their country of much turmoil but amazing potential. Pray, too, for the teams preparing to hold national GPAs in many other countries this year.

Turmoil characterizes much of our world today and is something Dr. Richard sees close-up in his global proclamation travels. This week, during an intimate dinner with a small group of RREACH friends, he shared a biblically grounded perspective and strategy for understanding and living in these complex and uncertain times. If you’d like to read some of what he has written on this topic, browse the articles on the RREACH website: rreach.org/articles.

The Lord willing, Ramesh plans to fly out next week to minister in two areas of the world difficult for followers of the Lord Jesus. Please ask God’s great favor on this trip—that He will use Dr. Richard to greatly encourage believers and winsomely connect with pre-Christians, some who may never have heard anything of the Gospel.

We continue to pray for the right 25 pastors, at least five from new countries, for the 2018 Dallas GPA. Being approved for a visa to travel to the U.S. is a huge challenge for many of them. Four pastors will be applying for their visas over the next couple of weeks. Please intercede for them.

Finally, continue to lift up our efforts to re-center around RREACH’s core purpose of fully exploiting—in the good way—Dr. Richard’s gifting and calling to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ, for the very best of many everywhere. Thank you!

In his words: Ramesh Richard January 2018 update

Dear praying friends,

“Happy New Year” seems trite and passé. However, with the Eternal Father of time (in His ownership), above time (in His essence), and over time (in His control), I wish you a Hope-filled New Year.

Immersed in Psalm 90 at the turn of the year, I noticed verse 9: “We end our years with a sigh!” And we did sigh, indeed, in exhaling 2017, and not necessarily with lament, though it was a tough year for some. With gratitude for God’s wisdom in numbering our fast-fleeting and frail days (v. 12), we appeal to God to display His splendor and extend His favor to us (vs. 16-17).

…we appeal to God to display His splendor and extend His favor to us…

I began last month began by personally witnessing to a brilliant airplane seat-mate from Portland to Dallas. He ended up acknowledging his need and affirming his trust in the Lord Jesus. Rejoice with me!

Then it was on to year-end business as our entire board again signed on for the next annual term. We have godly and practical counsel watching over this ministry. Fine Ministries, Operations and Advancement reports affirmed the excellence of this work.

I dashed off on a two-day trip to Costa Rica, where RREACH established a Chair of Biblical Preaching and Pastoral Ministries at ESEPA, a foremost Central America seminary. We wish to elevate the local church and advance the cause of biblical Preaching through key schools like this worldwide. On the flight back, I got to sow seeds and shake the belief of a young, bright Jewish/Costa Rican businessman. We are following up with LifeRocks thoughts and videos.

The month’s ministry highlight was an intense, three-day gathering of our Ministries staff around a singular priority: How do we enhance RREACH’s “I Proclaim” (iPro) core in order to affirm our charter, uniqueness and mission? We are beginning a short-term (2018-2020) balancing for strength and implementation. Thank you always for standing with us.

Very soon, I am to re-enter the classroom at Dallas Seminary. I have enjoyed getting prepared for these educational encounters with the future of the Church, especially in America. I am glad I am able to contribute to this great land, too, in fulfilling the “worldwide” part of our Mission and our Lord’s Final Commission. Thank you for once again being a part of this personal, biblical and global ministry in changing the way One Billion Individuals think and hear about the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Inexhaustible One,

RR

Praying around the world

Dear praying friends,

We heard from people around the world who prayed for Dr. Ramesh Richard as he spoke to a group of influencers last week—what a blessing and encouragement! “God did speak through me,” he reported. “I sensed it…and so I am told.” May God multiply its impact.

Ramesh is now in the middle of a three-city trip in South Asia. His upcoming engagements include speaking at one of the fastest-growing churches in the region, a mega youth conference, and a pastors conference. Plus, many people wish to meet with him. Praise God for these opportunities! Pray for the right words at the right moments, physical and spiritual protection, and, ultimately, for more people to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ.

We’re excited about the young pastors who have recently graduated from GPA Niger and GPA Mongolia. Please intercede that they will apply what they learned and continue to encourage each other. GPA Cuba and GPA Mexico are coming up.

Also lift up the GProCommission team’s efforts to connect, unite and strengthen trainers of pastors. The range of needs in this area is vast—but God is providing as we pray! An associate who can communicate with a significant language group recently joined in the work.

Changing the way people think…will you pray?

Dear praying friends,

The Lord Jesus gave Dr. Richard some unexpected ministry encouragement during a quick trip to visit his father, Dr. John Richard. He met a man who remembered his talk at a leadership seminar held more than 20 years ago—and the man had been just 11 years old at the time! He also got word that a Christian television station in India is airing his LifeRocks Media Outreach messages daily. In addition to the joy of spending time with his dad, what an affirmation for Dr. Richard that God continues to change the way people think about the Lord Jesus Christ through his personal proclamation!

Will you trust God with us for his upcoming proclamation opportunities, which include Media Outreach message filming, guest-speaking at the church of an internationally-renowned minister, and a pastors conference and evangelistic outreaches in East Africa?

We rejoice in the 29 pastors who graduated from GPA Ivory Coast this month and the 24 pastors who gathered this week for GPA Argentina, which is to run through August 5.

Pray for God’s special connecting, uniting and strengthening for all of our Dallas and national GPA graduates and for current and upcoming national GPA attendees.

Please also uphold RREACH and GProCommission team members and their families, RREACH Board members and their families, and Dr. Richard’s family, especially as many travel this summer. Based in Dallas, Texas, USA; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Beirut, Lebanon; Kampala, Uganda; and many other places, we all strive to serve together for the proclamation of the Lord Jesus Christ worldwide.

An ending that is really a beginning

Dear praying friends,

The three intense weeks of the 2017 Dallas GPA are drawing to a close. Today, Dr. Richard taught the final Master Coach sessions and joined the pastors in a special wrap-up time of sharing and prayer. Tomorrow, the Lord willing, many RREACH friends will gather for the GPA graduation dinner, a time of celebration and commissioning.

Please pray for these final hours in Dallas to be rich for our 29 fine young pastoral leaders. As Dr.  Richard says, the real GPA work begins as these men go back to the demands and stresses of ministry in their 29 different countries. Pray that the connecting, uniting and strengthening they experienced here will multiply into greater proclamation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2017 GPA delegates: Connecting, uniting, strengthening

Intercede for Dr. Richard as he finalizes and delivers his graduation talk.

The RREACH and GPA staff also appreciate prayer as we strive to create a first-class experience for the pastors down to the final details, and to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in how we speak and serve amid all the responsibilities and demands. Much is yet to be done to host the banquet and to get the pastors safely on their way home (pray for safe travels, too!)

GPA Honduras has its graduation this weekend, as well. Pray for the Lord’s rich blessing on that special event and on the pastors as they go forward better connected, united and strengthened to serve.

Thank you, friends, for caring and praying.

In his words: Ramesh Richard update

Dear praying friends,

We’ve just finished a month of birthdays. Bonnie and I are aging at the same pace…even as you are! We are grateful to exchange weariness, weakness and any worry for His strength as we actively wait for the Lord to lead us into the future.

As you can guess I have been in Isaiah 40:31—the verse picked by India’s national and historic missions agency Friends Missionary Prayer Band to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Over 1,000 Indian missionaries were present, and my preparation on “the loftiest chapter in the Old Testament” refreshed me even as the talk rejuvenated others. “God is God. He is not applying for the job.”

Just before that I had spoken in Thailand to 1,000 leaders, with a large contingent from another strategic nation. Forty hours there and forty hours in India made for demanding travel, but gave me the opportunity to advance Christ’s cause through committed leaders representing two of the world’s largest countries. My sentiment after concluding this heavy and rich time was simply: “No servant of Jesus should be given so much opportunity in the space of one week!” Thank you, Lord Jesus. What an honor!

I also spoke at private evangelistic dinner at the fine Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Sixty of the 100 attendees were pre-Christian, all of them noted that they wanted to know more, and eight of them responded to the invitation to trust the Lord Jesus as their Heart-God.

The World Evangelical Alliance met in Kona, Hawaii, where I shared some of my leadership learnings with top-tier missions and organizational leaders. Except I had contracted an antibiotic-resistant acute bacterial infection that still lingers, four weeks later. Please pray for me.

We are well into the 2017 Dallas GPA. While we faced major visa problems, God provided more pastors than we planned for! If you wish to serve as a host family for a pastor for the weekend of June 10-11, please let my colleague Mary know at mary@rreach.org.

We’d love for you to be our dinner guest for the graduation on June 24, to rejoice at the fruit of your investments with us. Kindly RSVP here: rreach.org/GPAbanquet.

Thank you for your prayers. I am counting on them.

Proclamation reclamation and other good news

Dear praying friends,

The post-GProCongress reclamation of the proclamation portion of Dr. Richard’s ministry is progressing. During a short trip this week, he spoke to a packed college chapel. When he invited attendees to new or renewed relationships with the Lord Jesus Christ, many responded!

The RREACH board is meeting today and tomorrow, and next week Dr. Richard heads to Thailand, the Lord willing, and then to Romania for the final days of the national GPA there. Please pray for the Lord’s special sustenance through a demanding itinerary and a number of speaking engagements.

Two other national GPAs are underway right now: GPA Guinea (Conakry) and GPA St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Pray that delegates in all locations will be powerfully connected, united and strengthened.

We rejoice that 20 pastors now have visas to attend the 2017 Dallas GPA! Thank you for praying, and please continue to intercede for the visa process. We also appreciate your prayers for getting good flights for the pastors. God is providing–ahead of our schedule.
