Five days…pray for total protection and global provision

Dear praying friends,

In about five days, the Lord willing, the GProCongress for Pastoral Trainers will convene in Bangkok, Thailand. Congress team members and volunteers are arriving daily in Thailand for on-site preparation.

When RREACH launched “the year of the GProCongress” last June, Dr. Richard asked for prayer for God’s Total Protection and Global Provision. God has answered our prayers in mighty ways, showing His clear intention for this event to take place despite some overwhelming challenges.

Please continue to pray for Total Protection and Global Provision:

  • for the many participants (especially those coming from West Africa and South Asia) who continue to have trouble getting visas
  • for the final logistical details for June 15-22 and the four-year follow-up that are being pulled together
  • for the participants who are beginning to make the journey to Bangkok
  • that the Enemy’s forces, as they seek to distract and deter, will be deactivated
  • that God will move people, events and ideas to address the need to exponentially multiply pastoral training through the GProCongress

For the health and beauty of Christ’s bride worldwide.

Please keep praying!

Dear praying friends,

In less than two weeks, the Lord willing, the GProCongress for Pastoral Trainers will begin. Thank you for your faithful, focused prayer for Dr. Richard and all involved with this event. God is moving. Please keep praying!

Urgent prayer needs: Congress registrant visa and funding challenges

Dear praying friends,

We thank God for two good days of planning Dr. Richard had with the GProCongress program team earlier this week. Please pray that they can move quickly on action items, for positive results, and for the Holy Spirit’s total direction of the program.

Some requests we’ve brought to you before are now critical: visa procurement and participant travel funding. Despite the Congress team’s great diligence and the hospitality of the Thai government, GProCongress registrants in some countries are still encountering obstacles when applying for visas. One pastoral trainer writes:

We are facing difficulties in obtaining the visa. We sent an email to the embassy but we did not receive any response, we then followed up with a call but no one picked up.

We traveled to the embassy city on Tuesday to present all our authorized documents and were asked to come for the visa the following day till today. We were only informed today that we cannot receive our visa unless the embassy receives more information.

Our flight home was this evening but we have to reschedule our flight for Monday. Most of the participants from other West Africa countries are getting frustrated with the hindrance here because of the cost of hotel, feeding and transportation just to get a visa.

We are pleading with you to help in facilitating the visa process.

Some other registrants are regretfully cancelling their attendance because they have not been able to get funds to travel to Bangkok. Please intercede for God’s provision and protection in the face of these visa and funding challenges, and pray that many will see Him at work and glorify Him.

Dr. Richard finishes final GProCongress recruitment trip

Dear praying friends,

I have just returned from my personal final recruitment push for the Congress. Here are some thoughts for your prayers.

Final vision-casting meeting

Final vision-casting meeting

1) God has brought fine leaders around the table to implement the GProCongress. There are still decisions to be made and actions to be taken, but the general sentiment is that at this point, we have done what can be done.

2) We saw a registrant “uptick” by about 300 in what seemed a few hours! There is a recruitment effort this week in Nairobi among Anglican Evangelical Prelates. Last week a friend made special connections in a major Asian country, and recent visits to Brazil and Argentina have already yielded fruit.

3) Our industrious back office leaders relocated to Uganda from Malaysia while maintaining a torrid schedule; they also negotiated a generous visa policy for Congress delegates with our kind host country—a great answer to prayer.

4) Coordinated follow-up is to be one of the Congress hallmarks. Our fine follow-up team just gathered in Costa Rica for planning.

5) Our Thai hosts are all “pumped up” because this Congress has a vision with action till 2020! Their volunteers are amazing.

We have fewer than 56 days left. Decisions will be made by the thousands…please pray for total protection and global provision. Pray for me since I am recovering emotionally and work-wise (about 100 hours of written labor) from a personal mishap, the theft of my briefcase at an airport–all important, much useful, some favorite, and a few irreplaceable things.

God’s graces kept my passport and credit cards from being in the briefcase, where they normally are!

Thank you for praying.

Intense GProCongress preparation; Inspirational Challenge deadline today!

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for praying in the power of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ! We hope your Easter celebration of our Savior was sweet.

The GProCongress team is facing many challenges as they prepare for eight highly intentional, carefully scheduled days in June. Pray for wisdom, precision and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in the coordination of all the moving parts. Ask God for His power to prevail in behind-the-scenes operations. Pray for just the right people to fill the remaining presentation slots. Pray that those already committed to serve as emcees, speakers, presenters and coaches will be clearly directed by the Spirit as they prepare.

In delegate recruitment, we are asking in faith for not more than 5,000 pastoral trainers from 200 countries. Currently, more than 2,000 from 97 countries are in various stages of application/registration/payment. Intercede for the right pastoral trainers representing every nation of the world to be motivated and able to attend. Uphold Dr. Richard as he considers a number of pending recruitment trips to Central America, South America, Asia and Africa.

Please also pray for many to be moved to give toward the Congress in the final hours of our Inspirational Challenge. Over 75% has come in; we are in need of about $260,000 to meet our March 31 goal.

We are grateful beyond words for your faithful intercession for physical/spiritual/mental/relational protection and provision for Dr. Richard, the RREACH and GProCongress teams, and the RREACH board. God is able!

New Congress connections in Arab- and Russian-speaking worlds

Dear praying friends,

Praise God! He provided two windows of opportunity into the Arab-speaking and Russian-speaking worlds—and the required travel visas—for Dr. Ramesh Richard to make new connections for the GProCongress. In addition to praying for good fruit for the Congress, please ask the Lord for special endurance and clarity of mind since Dr. Richard’s flight out of Dallas on Sunday was delayed, leading to a missed connection and a night of sleep lost for him and his host in the Northern Africa region.

Also praise God for the steady response to the GProCongress Inspirational Challenge of $1.1 million by March 31. Generous friends have given about half of that goal amount. Every gift is precious. We just received the following note from a pastor in Ethiopia: “I am so much impressed by the scope and scale of your influence and would like to be part of it. Thank you for your sponsorship of the logistics which none of us would get chance to afford it unless and otherwise.

Dr. Richard, the RREACH team and the GProCongress team are deeply grateful for your prayers that they will remain focused on and abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray for His total protection and global provision.

Congress needs: program development, delegates, funding

Dear praying friends,

God keeps providing opportunities, advances and affirmation for the GProCongress in spite of very real challenges Dr. Richard and the team face. Your prayer is essential, and we thank you. Please intercede for:

  • Congress program development
    • speaker/presenter procurement and preparation
    • careful planning and attention to detail for a smoothly-run schedule
    • coach recruitment
  • Congress recruitment and delegates – up to 5,000 from 200 countries
    • motivating the many who are interested to apply
    • provision for expenses of those in difficult areas/situations (RREACH is covering as much as possible while respecting delegates’ need to own part of the process)
    • mental and spiritual preparation
  • Congress funding – $1.1 million inspirational challenge by March 31 ($5m in 2016)
    • praise—we are halfway to our Inspirational Challenge goal
    • the Lord to move the right people at the right time to give, making it possible for many from less materially-advantaged circumstances to attend
    • positive response from foundations

The Lord willing, Dr. Richard travels to Washington, D.C., this week to meet a group of leaders from various parts of the Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking worlds and early next week will meet with leaders of the Arabic- and Russian-speaking worlds. Pray for mutual encouragement and good response to the GProCongress. We need more pastoral trainers from South America, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East to attend.

Praise and pray for divine connections and many registrations

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for holding Dr. Richard up during this final stretch to the Global Proclamation Congress. The opposition he faces is constant and comes on all fronts, but the Holy Spirit’s protection and guidance are even more constant, powerful and always/everywhere-present. Praise Him!

Dr. Richard’s vision-casting meeting with 9 of the 10 countries of ASEAN leaders last week, put together in two weeks, was well-attended—a direct answer to prayer. It looked like one key country would not be represented, but God brought in a leader from that nation just two hours before the meeting. Please pray that this session will translate into a surge of registrations. Dr. Richard also spent the weekend in a neighboring region where the Church is thriving quietly but exponentially. Pray for a strongly positive response, and for God to clear the way for many pastoral trainers from this area to attend.

Connections for the third stop on Dr. Richard’s trip are coming together after a great deal of prayer and perseverance. We thank the Lord Jesus! Please ask Him to bring the right people together at the right time(s), to give Dr. Richard wisdom as he communicates, and to spur a robust delegation for the GProCongress. We praise Him for how He is moving all of us and the Congress forward for His honor and joy.

Smooth travel, growing the GProCongress geography, GPA Lebanon Part II

Dear praying friends,

Praise God for His sustaining grace. Dr. Richard left on his sixth trip in 30 days, hoping to make crucial GProCongress connections in six countries in a little over six days. Pray for smooth entry into and exit from each country and for strategic broadening of the geography of registration for the Congress. Thank you for your faithful prayer; please continue to lift Dr. Richard’s entire well-being, and that of his family, before the Lord.

The recent headline-making terrorist attacks in Paris remind us to pray diligently for people all over the world experiencing violence and tragedy. Ask God to deliver every individual from evil—perpetrators, victims, and those ministering the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ in the middle of it.

As 15 pastors from six countries in the Middle East gather late this week for the final days of GPA Lebanon, we especially rejoice over the transformation God is quietly bringing about through them in that troubled region. Pastor A, 2013 Dallas GPA grad, reports, “They have been connecting, being united and being strengthened for the past couple of months. And now is the time to be back for Part II. Lebanon was the target of a terrorist bombing, yet this has not discouraged our friends from confirming their attendance.”

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. Eph. 3:20-21 Amplified

An answer to praise

Dear praying friends,

Praise God for 850 applicants for the GProCongress, and for the new one-step registration system implemented this week! We are asking Him for at least 1,500 registrants this month and 5,000 in total. Please also pray for travel mercies, wisdom and favor on Dr. Richard as he leaves today, the Lord willing, for a conference of leading theological educators in the Middle East. He hopes to make significant progress in mobilizing Congress attendees and presenters there.

Almost daily we receive news from GPA grads and other believing friends around the world who are suffering the effects of natural disaster, broken systems, and persecution. Yet they hold on to the Lord Jesus Christ. One wrote, Please I would like to express my deep request to you uphold us in your daily prayer that our God is a God of provider and in Him everything is under control. In His everlasting love…. Let’s intercede, with gratitude, for our brothers and sisters.

Finally, GPA Thailand is scheduled to begin Nov. 8. Pray for a good group of 25 pastors, for organizers and master and peer coaches, and for life-changing connecting, uniting and strengthening.
