Proclamation and pastoral care

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • The Lord has been giving Dr. Richard many opportunities to speak words of life and give pastoral care to leaders and professionals in West Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, to name a few recent locations. Praise Him!
  • GPA Solomon Islands, the first national Global Proclamation Academy of 2019, wrapped up last week. Pray for these young pastors to return to ministry greatly encouraged and strengthened.
  • Dr. Richard resumes teaching at Dallas Seminary this week. Pray for him to be a useful and powerful instrument in the Lord’s hands.
  • Pray over a strategic, upcoming event introducing future RREACH ministry.

The connection was shaky, but the Lord allowed Dr. Richard to chat with pastors at GPA Solomon Islands by video conference.

Over recent months, God used Dr. Richard to greatly encourage groups of pastoral leaders and believers, as well as speak about life issues to leaders and professionals, in West Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. The Lord even opened the door for Dr. Richard to meet with the president of a majority non-Christian country, who invited guests, conversations, private time and prayer. Ask God to continue to pour His Spirit upon these places, strengthening those who believe and drawing many to Himself. Pray for direction as Dr. Richard considers upcoming trips to complex locations that offer great opportunities.

The first national GPA of 2019 finished last week in the Solomon Islands. Thank God for the 30 young pastors who attended. Please pray that He will connect, unite and strengthen them in special ways. Pray for upcoming national GPAs in Madagascar, Guatemala, Indonesia (women’s) and Panama.

Dr. Richard looks forward to getting back into the classroom at Dallas Seminary this week. Please pray for his preparation and teaching. Pray, too, as he prepares to speak in chapel January 30. (If you’re in Dallas at that time, you’re welcome to attend. Let us know, so he can look for you!)

We would appreciate prayer as we prepare for an early March event celebrating what God has done through RREACH and introducing the next decade. Please pray that God will clarify all details and bring the right participants for a full, even overflowing, house. Thank you for praying!

In his words: May update from Ramesh Richard

Dear praying friends,

On a beautiful spring day, the last day of last month, my beloved Bonnie and I sat in a park to talk and pray. As we thanked the Lord for His mercies in travel safety, health, ease and use, she described the month as “You went, and then went, and then went!”

First, I went to Cyprus, to speak for the Lindell (you’ve seen the My Pillow guy on TV?) Foundation. RREACH has given them fast growth potential through offering our GPA grads to be in-country validators as they seek to provide economic help to pastors’ families and more. The Lord used me there and it is always great to see our pastoral leaders anywhere.

And then I went to speak on behalf of my mentor Fred Smith’s (breakfastwithfred.com) legacy. A “millennial” audience filled the Illinois university chapel and was deeply attentive and responsive. I did not diminish their future potential by stereotyping them.

Before I went off again, the RREACH Board met for 24 hours of deep reflection and decisive action on this transition year of “proclamation reclamation.” How much I appreciate the wise counsel and wide perspectives of multiple voices which speak into my life.

I didn’t realize that I was on a seven-day around-the-world tour till a colleague pointed it out. Bonnie called it a whirlwind. In Bangkok for 28 hours with three different and lengthy speaking engagements, one of which was the first anniversary of the death of the one Thai leader without whom the GProCongress would not have happened last year.

Then I traveled all the way to Eastern Europe to attend the grand finale of GPA Romania—pastors’ wives attended, too! It was fabulous. And simultaneously GPA Guinea Conakry (West Africa) and GPA St. Vincent/Grenadines (Caribbean region) were also happening. Oh! All that God is doing!

Thank you for your terrific and timely prayer support, my friends. Please be our guest at the June 24 celebration banquet of the 2017 Dallas GPA. Keep us in your prayers.

A busy, yet fulfilling season; Dallas GPA visa appointments

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Richard speaking at DTS chapel

Dr. Richard speaking at DTS chapel

Thank you for praying Dr. Richard up to and through another key GProCongress planning session last week, a speaking engagement in DTS chapel and lunch for RREACH friends, a RREACH board meeting, and making additional strategic connections. This Friday, the Lord willing, he will speak at Moody Bible Institute’s Founder’s Week and be interviewed live on Moody Radio. Thank you for covering his wife, Bonnie, and the rest of his family in prayer during this busy season, too.

Three 2015 Dallas GPA candidates have visa appointments coming up (one tomorrow); last week one pastor was denied a visa. Please intercede for this pastor as he deals with this discouragement, and for the others as they apply. Pray for the right 25 delegates, and for representation from at least five new countries. Please lift up all Dallas and national GPA graduates and their families as they minister amid the many different pressures of life.
