Grieving and Acting with Hope

Dear praying friends,

Dr. Steve Douglass-Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru, Rev. Sirikul and Dr. Richard last November in Florida

Dr. Steve Douglass – Campus Crusade for Christ International/Cru, Rev. Sirikul and Dr. Richard last November in Florida

Early this morning Rev. Enoch Yuttasak Sirikul, chair of the Executive Board of Thailand Evangelism and Church Growth Committee, chair of Thailand Campus Crusade for Christ, and national coordinator for the Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers, went home to the Lord after a sudden, massive heart attack. Please pray for Rev. Sirikul’s family, friends and ministry.

Rev. Sirikul instantly invited Dr. Richard to hold the GProCongress in Thailand after Typhoon Haiyan battered the Philippines in late 2013, requiring the relocation and rescheduling of the event. “[The GProCongress] will be a historic event in the body of Christ for this generation,” he said.

“I am shocked, stunned and terrifically sad,” Dr. Ramesh Richard said. “I’ve known ‘Nok’ for 30 years. He was one of the great leaders of the world and one of my best friends in ministry.” Your committed prayer for God’s total protection and global provision for the fulfillment of the GProCongress and its strategic follow-up is essential during these days. Please remember:

  • Registration and delegates – up to 5,000 of the right pastoral trainers from all areas of the world
  • Speakers, presenters, coaches and follow-up – availability and preparation
  • Funding – God has supplied all the funding needed to meet Congress contract deadlines to date; we anticipate needing another $1.6 million by June 15
  • GProCongress team – creativity, capacity and Christlikeness

Thank you for praying for us during this time of intense grief and action.

Downpour delay; please pray

Praise God for watching over Dr. Richard, and pray, too. Dr. Richard is scheduled to leave Dallas for Indonesia at 6:40pm tomorrow for another key GProCongress vision trip. However, he is in South Carolina, and each flight he has gotten on today has been delayed and then canceled because of torrential rains. There is the possibility of a very early morning flight to Dallas tomorrow.

We know that our Sovereign God is not surprised and has plans to “do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,” (as Dr. Richard has reminded us recently!)

Please pray for a safe, expedited journey to Dallas and then Indonesia for Dr. Richard, and praise God for what great things He will do. Dr. Richard may even get the opportunity to introduce someone specific to the Lord Jesus Christ because of the altered flights!

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Eph. 3:14-21 NASB

Urgent prayer for Christians in the Middle East

Dear praying friends,

On the first day of Ramadan one year ago, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS, officially began its campaign of terror. The atrocities they have committed, primarily against followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, have dominated news reports. Many in the Middle East expect the group to escalate violence during Ramadan, June 17 – July 17, 2015, in celebration of their one-year anniversary.

This morning, the 2015 class of Dallas GPA delegates from 26 different countries gathered around Pastor AA, their brother from Syria, to cry out to the Lord about the imminent threat. Dr. Richard wishes to ask all of us, also, to pray urgently and fervently. Please pray

  • That God will give His people the strength to endure and be at peace.
  • That those being persecuted will deepen in faith and love, and be glorious witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • For God’s miraculous deliverance
    • Of the persecuted from earthly evil, for the glory of His name.
    • Of the persecutors, from heart evil, that they may be transformed to glorify Jesus’ name.

“A hush in the soul”

Dear friends,

Thank you for continuing to pray for Dr. Ramesh Richard as he travels and ministers in the Middle East.

Praise God for:

  • A good trip to Jordan, where Dr. Richard spoke at a dinner the evening prior to the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary’s graduation and building dedication ceremony.
  • Encouraging and fruitful meetings with pastoral trainers from this region who are interested in the Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers.
  • A wonderful time of sharing God’s word in Jerusalem.

Please continue to pray for God’s protection of Dr. Richard and believers in Jerusalem, where just four hours ago, the city was attacked by two projectiles believed to be launched from northern Gaza. Dr. Richard tweeted this:

@ this very moment 9pm local time, air sirens blaring, 2 bombs coming in, & intercepted by the Iron dome. There’s a hush in the soul

Media later reported that the Israel Defense Forces struck the rocket launcher used in the attack.

Please also pray for God to strengthen Dr. Richard spiritually, mentally and physically after a long, activity-packed trip. Finally, pray for Dr. Richard’s family and the RREACH staff while he is away.

Terrifying, heartbreaking and urgent request

Dear friends,

You no doubt are following the news reports of the persecution against Christians happening in the Middle East. We recently received this report from the front lines. Dr. Richard and RREACH are committed to joining in the effort to mobilize prayer for this region. Please join us not only in praying, but also in sharing this request with your praying friends.

Also, Dr. Richard is to be traveling to this region over the next two weeks. Please pray for God’s divine protection, wisdom and resources over Dr. Richard during his time in this region. Also pray that God would use him to bring encouragement and hope to Christians and Christian leaders there.

Greetings in Jesus name.

The situation for the Christians has being deteriorated badly within the last 36 hours, as ISIS has overtake new areas:

Sinjar ( North west of Mosel) and around = 30,000-plus being scattered around and on mountains as they were fleeing for their lives.

•Telkeif; Batnai; Tel Esquff ( I.e. Bishops hill); Bartella; Qara-quash; Al Gure; Ba’ashiqa; Bahzani.

Apart from Sinjar which is a mix of minorities, all the above mentioned cities are mainly Christians. ISIS has attack churches and raise their flags on churches; and call upon their gods inside our churches.

There was a massive exile yesterday and all night as the the Kurdish army have left their position and fled for their lives, thence people walked out leaving every thing behind just fleeing for their lives – I mean everything.

I was on the phone all night on the phone with brothers and sisters trying to help them find some sort of shelters as Erbil and Duhok were over-occupied. Families covered streets; kerbs; schools & parks. All churches ground being occupied with families. It’s a symbol of the abomination surfaced and emerged recently in this land.

We have called for urgent fasting and prayers. I believe it’s a spiritual warfare more than a ground battle. During my personal prayer and the intercessory group’s prayers I found it’s the old days monster, the old stingy serpent filled with hate and poison.

In Sinjar, they kidnap young girls and women and sold them as slaves. Kids and seniors died of thirst and hunger on the mountains.

I trust the Almighty for a Divine intervention, yet we need an urgent move of the Holy Spirit to turn the scale & balance of the situation on the ground.

We need all sort of help:

We need you pressing on your government and authorities to step foreword and get involved.

We need NGO to mobilise their gears and move into the country to save life and treat the injuries.

We need supports to provide: food; medications; shelters; clean waters; baby milk, etc.

Your prayers and intercessors will make a big difference.

May the Almighty bless richly always, Amen. Thank you

Sincerely Yours,

Rev. F. H.

P.S. One thing you can practically do is to replace your picture on social media accounts with the following picture as a sign of solidarity. This is the Arabic letter “N” painted on the houses of Christians (marking them for destruction), which is the first letter of the word Christian.

Please pray NOW: GProCongress venue

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” -1 Thessalonians 1.1-2

Dear friends,

Thank you for your “labor of love” in continuing to pray for Dr. Ramesh Richard and RREACH. As Paul said, we give thanks to God always for all of you!

We ask that you take a moment right now to join us in praying for important negotiations taking place this weekend toward securing a venue and hotels near Bangkok, Thailand for the 2016 Global Proclamation Congress for Pastoral Trainers.

Praise God:

  • That He has provided a favorable negotiating environment for RREACH. Current political unrest taking place in the center of Bangkok has dampened tourism. The GProCongress will benefit from this situation. The venue and hotels RREACH is considering lie outside of the city—away from the conflict (and the traffic).
  • That He has provided a skilled and experienced team to manage the event on RREACH’s behalf.

Pray for:

  • God’s favor and wisdom for our negotiating leader.
  • Excellence and integrity in communication and agreement.
  • God’s provision of needed funds for the GProCongress.
