Multi-faceted, multiplicative proclamation ministry

Dear praying friends,

In brief:

  • Our hearts go out to pastors choosing to serve in desperate situations around the world.
  • Pray for Dr. Richard’s upcoming, multi-faceted trip through several Asian countries.
  • Praise God for the national Global Proclamation Academies completed thus far this year and pray for the final ones.
  • Thank you for upholding the Global Proclamation Associates event coming in a few weeks and please continue.

The Lord willing, these young pastoral leaders will graduate from GPA Chile this week better prepared to preach, think and live biblically.

We’ve recently heard about man-made and natural disasters in Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia and Costa Rica, and we know that, sadly, many other places are going through tragic events. Would you pray with us especially for the pastors and families serving in these situations? They sacrifice much earthly comfort and gain to represent and proclaim the Lord Jesus amid crisis. Praise God for their amazing witness!

Dr. Richard plans to leave for Asia—many different parts of it—next week. Speaking at outreach events, pastoral training and church health conferences, and one of the fastest-growing churches in the world populate his schedule. Please pray that God will give him wisdom to be strategic with every moment and that the Holy Spirit will speak clearly through him. We cannot overestimate the value of praying for him!

Praise God for the 13 national GPAs that have taken place so far in 2018 and the pastors who have been connected, united and strengthened through them to better serve Christ in their communities. GPA Chile finishes this weekend and GPA The Gambia and GPA Guyana begin today. Pray for all aspects of these and for our preparation for the 2019 Dallas GPA.

In less than four weeks, the Lord willing, a group of select Dallas GPA graduates will gather in Dallas for the launching of Ramesh Richard’s Global Proclamation Associates. Please specifically uphold three pastors who have encountered obstacles in getting their U.S. visas. We are asking the Lord to intervene. Also pray for Dr. Richard and the RREACH staff as we work toward this event. Pray that the Lord Jesus will be honored and that many will draw near to Him through this ministry succession initiative.

Follow-up, fruitfulness, family

Dear praying friends,

The brief:

  • Dr. Richard’s ministry in two difficult countries was fruitful
  • Five Dallas GPA candidates now have visas; 23 others will be applying/reapplying
  • Dr. John Richard (95), Dr. Richard’s father, is ill
  • GPA St. Lucia is in progress
  • High-level security issues forced the cancellation of a national GPA

The bigger picture:

Dr. Richard’s meeting with friends of friends in a restricted area led to good discussion and ongoing interest. He also had a somewhat impromptu opportunity to speak with young entrepreneurs. Praise God and pray for good follow-up and transformed lives.

We thank God for five Dallas GPA candidates with visas. Five have been declined, although four plan to reapply. Pray for the pastor wrestling with the disappointment of not being able to come. Also pray for these pastors with upcoming appointments: T, Cameroon; K, Liberia; E, Brazil; S, Gabon; A, undisclosed.

Dr. John Richard (95), Dr. Richard’s father and “spiritual hero,” is having health issues. Please ask the Lord to watch over him and guide the family in caring for him.

GPA St. Lucia began February 1. Pray that the young pastors attending will be specially connected, united and strengthened. Also pray that a shipment of books they need will arrive in time.

The international events team is aiming for 25 national GPAs this year—a large undertaking. Pray for new ways to establish connections for national GPAs. One scheduled for pastors from a closed country had to be cancelled because of high-level security issues. Please pray for the brothers and sisters courageously proclaiming the Lord Jesus there.

For the very best…of many…everywhere.

What is he doing?

Dear praying friends,

What in the world is Ramesh Richard doing? And where? Writing, among other things. We’ve been praying for Dr. Richard to get quality time to develop ideas and write. God has provided a precious pocket of time for this during his current trip to Southeast Asia. Please ask the Lord to bless him with clear direction, creativity and productiveness. Pray that this time will be deeply refreshing in Christ.

Ramesh also anticipates tremendous opportunities for personal proclamation along the way, the Lord willing. Pray for:

  • A private gathering of believers and pre-Christian friends in a place where Gospel exposure is strongly curtailed.
  • Sessions with mission leaders in a land where the Church is growing and, sadly, so is opposition.
  • Comprehensive protection.

In the area of strengthening proclaimers, intercede for:

  • Dallas GPA preparations – Visas remain a critical concern. Two (of two) pastors have been denied so far. Pastor C from Cote d’Ivoire, Pastor I from Macedonia, and Pastor R from St. Kitts and Nevis have appointments in the next 10 days.
  • National GPAs – GPA St. Lucia is set for February 1 – 10. Other upcoming ones include Zambia 2, Laos, El Salvador and Central African Republic. Our goal is the right 25 pastors at each one.
  • GProCommunity – New technology tools and processes are proving invaluable in serving pastoral trainers globally. The teams are working hard on set-up and learning. They also seek more colleagues, especially in Southeast Asia.

Finally, please continue to pray for good fruit from our Media Outreach messages on Peace. If you have friends wrestling with life and the idea of God, suggest LifeRocks.org. We pray they’ll find what they are looking for!

Some items on our minds…

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for remembering RREACH before the Lord Jesus during this extra-busy season! Praise and thanks to the Lord Jesus for His unfailing goodness!

Some items currently on our minds and hearts:

  • A major consideration for the RREACH board (meeting today) and our executive team (meeting soon) is how to expand Dr. Richard’s personal proclamation ministry. Please pray for creativity and capacity in the planning and the implementation. Also pray for wisdom as Dr. Richard thinks and prays through 2018 speaking opportunities.
  • RREACH is establishing another Chair of Biblical Preaching and Pastoral Ministries, this time at ESEPA Bible College and Seminary in Costa Rica. Dr. Richard heads to Costa Rica next week, the Lord willing, to speak at ESEPA’s graduation ceremony and the Chair installation.
  • The GProCommission team is on an ambitious deadline to launch a pastoral training resources Web site at the New Year. They are also training to implement an improved customer relationship management platform. Ask the Lord to grant them efficiency, energy and keen minds.
  • We have 19 approved applicants, five from new countries, for the 2018 Dallas GPA. Much prayer would be appreciated for a full cohort of 25 next June with at least five new countries represented. Intercede also for the right 25 delegates at each 2018 national GPA.
  • Many, many pastoral leaders and trainers around the world are tired, discouraged and facing tough circumstances. Pray for our Sovereign God to refresh their hearts in Him, and to protect, provide for and unite them.

The RREACH staff prays together daily. If we may pray for you, please let us know: rreach.org/contact-us.

Dear praying friends,

RREACH’s first national Global Proclamation Academy for women, WGPA, is taking place right now in Manila, Philippines. Praise God! Of the 28 taking part, 20 come from the Philippines and eight from areas around the world where we hope to hold future WGPAs. Please cover the organizers, Master Coaches, and delegates and their families with the shield and blessing of prayer. We’re excited to see where God takes this!

Just one week after RREACH gathered pastors from a war-torn country for a retreat, a group met within their country for prayer and encouragement. A few of their concerns include unity and better relationships, wisdom amid chaos, government relations, and more people following the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s pray with and for these pastors and their families.

Dr. Richard has had a number of opportunities recently to talk with individuals about the Lord Jesus. Rejoice! Intercede for many to trust and follow Him. RREACH is looking at ways to free more of Dr. Richard’s time and focus for personal proclamation. Pray as we implement strategies.

We also appreciate your prayer for financial resources to meet ministry needs as we move toward the end of the year. Please ask that we will manage them wisely for maximum Kingdom effect, for God’s glory. Thank you!

Pray for pastors!

Dear praying friends,

A vision several years in the making is being realized! The Lord willing, next week RREACH will host an international retreat for about 40 pastors and their families from one of the most turbulent regions in the world. “I am going to be with heroes of our Faith, who have faithfully served God’s purposes and people in their great land during a time of turmoil and need,” Dr. Richard says. He is to fly out this weekend.

They have set a day of prayer and fasting (over at least one meal) for the retreat. We welcome you to join in this. Please ask the Lord Jesus for travel mercies and a deep and rich time of spiritual encouragement and personal refreshment.

The GProCommission team reports similar prayer requests on behalf of pastors around the globe. They desperately need spiritual refreshment and protection, provision, and unity to do God’s work most effectively. Pastors in Mexico are even now gathering for their second national GPA. Would you join us in praying for the health of pastors, churches and societies everywhere? And pray for more individuals from every culture and conviction to come to know the True, Good and Chief Shepherd. Thank you!

Ministry and math

Sunday service in one of the fastest-growing churches in the world

People are hungry for God. The picture above shows Ramesh Richard’s view as he spoke in one of the fastest-growing churches in the world during his recent South Asia trip. He spoke in two of five services which average 20,000 to 25,000 attendees each. At a mega youth conference of 15,000 the church held the next day, around 10,000 responded to his invitation.

From there he went to teach at the first pastors conference held in conjunction with RREACH’s first Chair of Preaching and Pastoral Ministries, established at SAIACS a year ago. The attendance–55–was but a fraction of that at the mega-church. But for Dr. Richard, it was more strategic. The reason is simple: multiplication. Those pastors, by God’s grace, will lead many future churches.

This last week Ramesh gave several “heart message” talks to about 200 church planting leaders from around the world at a Global Alliance for Church Multiplication Forum in Minneapolis, Minn. Their goal is 5 million churches planted by 2020. The corresponding challenge: Who is going to pastor those church plants to long-term health? RREACH’s Global Proclamation Commission is working on that. At the same time the forum was in session, 36 pastors and 18 wives were finishing training in Cuba’s second national Global Proclamation Academy.

That, dear prayer partners, is how God is multiplying the effect of your prayers!

The response has been encouraging. “Your talk was superb today. Superb. Much positive feedback. We thank God for His provision.” And from a media conference in South Asia, “I could see the Holy Spirit working in every word you spoke. I clearly see God’s hand in hand picking you for this year’s conference, and from the feedback we are getting, I am seeing God igniting hearts to move forward in the area of the harvest.”

We can’t tell you how much we appreciate you. Please keep on praying. The Lord willing, RREACH’s board of directors meets this weekend, GPA Mexico begins next week, and we are planning a retreat for pastors and families in a desperately dangerous region.
